Next Level Racing F-GT Elite Review: The Most Expensive Rig I’ve Ever Tested

Today, we’re diving into the most expensive sim racing rig I’ve ever reviewed — and trust me, I had great expectations going in.

Introducing the Next Level Racing F-GT Elite Wheel Plate Edition — a rig that truly lives up to the “Elite” in its name.

⚙️ Unmatched Adjustability and Configuration

When you say Next Level Racing, you say highly configurable. And this rig proves exactly that.

🦶 Pedal Tray

The pedal section is fully adjustable with:

  • A forward/backward inclination of up to 45°
  • A vertical sliding mount across the front “tusks”
  • Dual heavy steel plates with multiple slots — perfect for mounting any pedal set from the top or bottom

It’s an absolute joy for anyone who has “exotic” pedal setups.

🏁 Wheelbase Mount

Mounted between two angled beams, the wheelbase holder moves up and down smoothly and offers a wide range of tilt adjustments.

Compatibility is solid — officially supporting Fanatec, Thrustmaster, Logitech, Simxperience, and more.
However, note that the Logitech G Pro fits with only 2 out of 3 holes.

🕹️ Shifter & Seat Adjustments

The shifter holder sits on a 4080 beam, wide enough for both a handbrake and a shifter, and can be tilted to your liking.

The seat brackets are next-level — adjustable in 98 different positions with tool-free bolts.
You can easily switch between GT, Formula, Truck, and even Tank mode (yes, that’s a thing).

🧱 Build Quality: Solid as a Rock

The build quality? Phenomenal.
The main aluminum profiles are 100mm thick, compared to the standard 80mm found in other rigs. Everything feels over-engineered and built to last.

🧩 Stability Tests

  • Pedal tray: No noticeable flex, even under heavy load.
  • Wheelbase mount: A tiny bit of flex, but only if you drive like an absolute maniac.

The vertical beams are bolted at eight points to the base — this thing is solid.

✨ Finish and Design

The gunmetal anodized profiles have a subtle blueish metallic shine — smooth, scratch-resistant, and simply stunning.

The NLR logo is engraved into the profiles, and all connectors are powder-coated.
This isn’t just a rig — it’s a centerpiece.

🧰 Features and Attention to Detail

Next Level Racing continues to lead the way with smart touches and thoughtful inclusions.

  • 🔩 Angled design: Every beam and connector follows the same visual line
  • 🦶 Heel plate: Perfect for comfort and stability
  • 🔌 High-quality cable holders
  • 🔊 Buttkicker & motion platform support
  • 🧭 Built-in leveling tool and wrench kit

That leveling tool might sound small, but it’s a brilliant addition that shows how much attention went into the details.

🪑 Versions and Seat Options

The F-GT Elite comes in different configurations:

  • 🥇 Elite (full 160mm profiles)
  • 🪶 GT Elite Lite (80mm base profiles)

The Lite version removes some features — no shifter mount, no heel plate, and no post-anodized carbon-grey finish (only black).
Calling it “Lite” might have been a marketing misstep, as it unfairly devalues the premium model.

💺 Seat Choices

You can choose between the ERS1, ERS2, ERS3, or ES1 seats.
I tested the ERS1 — extremely comfortable, silent, and features a dual recliner lock.
However, the lumbar support is quite firm. A small cushion would improve comfort for long sessions.

📏 Size, Weight, and Practicality

Make no mistake — this is a big rig.

  • 📐 Length: 160 cm
  • 📏 Width: 84 cm
  • ⚖️ Weight: 56 kg

It’s solid but heavy. Fortunately, the feet make it easy to slide around — though adding casters or wheels might be a good idea if you move it often.

💸 Price and Value

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room — price.
The F-GT Elite Wheel Plate Edition costs around €1,100, without a seat.
Adding an ERS seat adds another €280–€350.

Is it worth it? That depends on you.
For me personally, it’s a bit too expensive for what it offers — especially since I’m not a Formula-style driver.

⚠️ Drawbacks and Limitations

No product is perfect, and this one has its share of flaws:

  • 🧍‍♂️ Hard to assemble alone — definitely grab a friend
  • 🎨 Limited personalization — all rigs look identical; some color inserts or profile fillers would help
  • 🦵 Knee clearance issue — depending on your wheelbase, the lower plate might sit close to your legs. Personally I’m not a fan of the slated uprights.

Fanatec users likely won’t notice, but Logitech bases (which sit higher) can be problematic in GT position.

🏁 Final Thoughts

The Next Level Racing F-GT Elite Wheel Plate Edition is one of the most versatile and premium rigs I’ve ever tested.

Pros:

  • Extremely adjustable
  • Rock-solid build
  • Premium materials and finish
  • Motion and Buttkicker ready
  • Gorgeous anodized color

Cons:

  • Pricey
  • Heavy and large
  • Limited visual customization
  • Small ergonomic quirks – slated uprights

If you’re after a premium, configurable, long-lasting sim racing rig that can handle any setup — this is as close to perfect as it gets.
But be ready to pay the price for that versatility and craftsmanship.

💬 Final verdict:

“A masterpiece of engineering and adjustability, slightly let down by its steep price and lack of personalization options.”
