Next Level Racing PRS2 Review – Comfort Meets Performance
The Next Level Racing Performance Reclining Sim Seat (PRS) is the latest addition to the company’s sim-racing lineup, launched in June 2025. Designed as a bridge between the immersive snugness of a bucket seat and the comfort of a reclining chair, the PRS promises both high-performance feel and long-session comfort. Two models were released at launch: the PRS1 and the PRS2 — and today we’re diving deep into the PRS2.
📦 Unboxing & Installation
As expected from Next Level Racing, the seat arrived well-packed with a comprehensive installation kit and, surprisingly, a full printed manual — something that’s becoming rare these days.
Installation was straightforward and took less than 10 minutes.
The design language is clean and neutral, avoiding flashy gimmicks. Branding appears tastefully on the top and side bolsters, and the PRS2’s red accents give it a strong, refined character. The hue is slightly darker than typical sim-racing reds, giving it a subtle and premium edge.
It would be great, though, to see Next Level Racing experiment with interchangeable accent colors in future iterations — it could add a welcome touch of personalization.
⚙️ PRS1 vs PRS2 – What’s the Difference?
While the two models share a base design philosophy, there are key distinctions:
- PRS1: Gray accents, slightly tighter fit, supports up to 38-inch waist.
- PRS2: Red accents, slightly wider and more comfortable, supports up to 40-inch waist.

Both seats are designed to feel snug — so if you’re between sizes, the PRS2 Comfort is likely your better match.
Compatibility-wise, both models fit Next Level Racing’s extrusion-profile rigs and the GTTrack. They also mount to most third-party extrusion setups with ease, though tubular frame users should check dimensions before ordering.
🧍♂️ Ergonomics & Fit
A common criticism of reclining sim seats is that they lack the snug, supportive feel of full bucket seats — but the PRS2 challenges that perception.
The shoulder and thigh bolstering are pronounced, giving an excellent sense of enclosure.
Where many recliners flex or wobble under hard braking (especially with load-cell pedals), the PRS2 stays impressively stable. While there’s minor flex under extreme pressure, it’s minimal compared to competitors — making it one of the sturdiest reclining sim seats tested to date.
🔧 Adjustability & Controls
Next Level Racing’s dual-lock reclining mechanism has been updated. Instead of a traditional lever system, the PRS series uses a single-hand turn-knob, allowing you to adjust angle and recline on the fly — even mid-session.
This design feels both intuitive and solid, holding its position firmly even under braking or side-load pressure.
One standout feature — and arguably the highlight of the PRS2 — is its adjustable lumbar support.
This feature is a first for sim-racing seats and offers genuine ergonomic benefits, especially during long 2–3 hour sessions.
With a simple adjustment knob, you can tailor lower-back support instantly. It’s one of those small innovations that dramatically improves comfort and reduces fatigue, particularly for drivers who play for extended periods.
🪶 Comfort & Fabric Quality
Comfort is where the PRS2 truly shines.
The seat’s foam density and internal spring system (4–5 springs) make it soft yet supportive. The breathable mesh fabric features a micro perforation pattern that keeps airflow consistent — a big improvement over faux leather, which tends to trap heat and sweat.

The result? You can race for hours without feeling sticky or overheated.
Even though the Alcantara-like fabric may look slightly uneven under lighting (as many Alcantara materials do), it still feels premium and durable. The stitched logos, tight seams, and overall build quality feel solid and refined.

🛠️ Build Quality & Design Notes
The PRS series impresses with its seat rails that glide smoothly and lock tightly.
The recliner bolts, however, sit slightly away from the seat base — a small detail, but worth mentioning. Other than that, everything feels rock-solid.
The seat’s materials and craftsmanship match the mid-to-high-end sim racing market perfectly, delivering a premium experience without overpricing.
💰 Pricing & Value
The PRS1 and PRS2 retail at €379 / $399 USD, positioning them in the mid to upper segment.
While it’s an investment, it’s a smart one — especially if you spend long hours racing. Like a high-quality office chair, the right seat protects your back and keeps you focused longer.
Given the quality, comfort, and innovation (especially the lumbar system), the PRS2 offers excellent value for money.
🏁 Conclusion – A New Benchmark for Comfort
The Next Level Racing PRS2 sets a new standard for comfort and ergonomics in sim-racing seats.
Its adjustable lumbar support, solid construction, and superb fit make it one of the most comfortable and refined seats currently available.
Just be sure to choose the correct size — the snug fit is great, but body size matters.
All in all, this is the best reclining sim-racing seat I’ve tested to date.
Whether you’re a long-session driver or simply want a balance between immersion and comfort, the PRS2 delivers in every category.
