Playseat Trophy Logitech Edition Review — Light, Adjustable, and Surprisingly Sturdy
Today we take a fresh look at the Playseat Trophy, this time in the Logitech Edition. I reviewed the original model before, but after gaining much more experience with cockpit evaluations it’s time for a proper updated review.
⚙️ Configurability — Excellent, With Nuances
Pedal Plate Adjustability
One of the Trophy’s strongest points remains its configurability, especially for pedals:
- Can incline in multiple angles
- Slides forward/backward and up/down
- Offers a lot of adjustment combinations
- Can even be mounted in reverse for Formula-style driving

This reversed setup minimizes the height difference between the pedals and the seat, ideal for F1 positioning.
Playseat states the pedal base and wheelbase mount support all wheels, pedals, and consoles.
For mainstream brands, this is true.
For others (MOZA, Asetek, CAMMUS), it’s less clear.
At least one off-brand confirmation:
✔ Fanatec CSL pedals mount perfectly with all four attachment points.
Wheelbase Mount
The wheelbase holder is less flexible:
- You can tilt it up and down
- But you cannot adjust its height

This becomes an issue for taller users.
Recommended driver height range: 160–185 cm.
Above ~185 cm, the wheel may sit too low.
If you’re tall and use this cockpit, your feedback would be valuable.
🪑 The Seat — Comfortable, But Not a Bucket
The Trophy’s hammock-style seat can be inclined across a wide range—from upright GT driving to deep Formula positions.
However:
- The inclination cannot be changed on the fly
- All other adjustments rely on Velcro tension straps

Even though I’d still prefer a proper bucket seat or desk chair mount, the Trophy is surprisingly comfortable. The straps allow for solid support, and the seating feels stable even during high-force pedal inputs.
🛠️ Build Quality — Lightweight but Exceptionally Solid
The Trophy uses 4 cm aluminum tubing—not the thickest you can find.
But thanks to smart engineering and reinforcements in critical areas, it is:
- One of the sturdiest tubular rigs available
- Strong at both the pedal deck and wheelbase mount
- Very stable during hard braking
What sets it apart structurally:
- The wheelbase mounting mechanism
- The connecting plate between the curved front support beams
These give the Trophy rigidity far above its weight class.
🎨 Finish and Aesthetics
The Logitech Edition differs from the original in paint:
- Original: rougher, powder-coated feel
- Logitech Edition: smoother, automotive-like paint
- Thicker layer and seemingly more scratch-resistant
The stickers are less impressive—still thick and decent, but stickers are stickers.
Given the price range, they’re acceptable.
🌬️ Actifit Fabric — Cooler than Leather or Alcantara
The seating surface uses Actifit, a breathable mesh material:
- Honeycomb texture improves airflow
- Helps heat escape from your back
- Surrounding areas use softer fabric for comfort

I still get warm in it, but far less than in synthetic leather or Alcantara seats.
A big advantage for long sessions.
🎒 Features — Limited, as Expected from Playseat
Playseat is not known for feature-rich cockpits, and the Trophy continues that tradition.
What it does have:
- Attractive logo badges
- Stylish external design
- Included Velcro strips for protecting the frame underneath
What it lacks (and really needs):
- Feet — the frame sits directly on the floor and will scratch over time
- Accessory options — only a shifter mount and a separate display stand are available
In short, you don’t buy a Trophy for modularity.
📏 Dimensions & Practicality — The Trophy’s Hidden Superpowers
The Trophy measures 150 × 58 cm. Not huge, but what truly stands out:
🪶 Weight: 16 kg
This rig is extremely light for its rigidity.
This means:
- You can easily move it
- You can store it against a wall if needed
- Cleaning around and under it is simple
There are no deep crevices—just wipe it down with a cloth and it’s clean.
Very practical.
💶 Price — Finally Reasonable
The standard Playseat Trophy currently lands around 500€ — about 100€ cheaper than at launch.
This new pricing makes it a very strong bang-for-buck option, especially considering:
- Its configurability
- Its rigidity
- Its comfort
- Its lightweight, living-room-friendly design
🏁 Final Verdict — A Much Better Seat Than I First Gave It Credit For
After revisiting the Trophy with more experience, my opinion has changed significantly.
The Playseat Trophy is:
- A great affordable Formula-style rig thanks to its deep adjustability
- Much sturdier than any tubular rig has the right to be
- Lightweight, easy to clean, and easy to move
- Attractive enough for shared living spaces
- Simple to assemble compared to most cockpits
Playseat may produce some of the worst cockpits on the market (the aging Evolution and the clumsy Formula), but they also make some of the best:
- The Playseat Challenge
- And now, undeniably, the Playseat Trophy
It’s one of the strongest recommendations in its category.
