CAMMUS Peripherals Review — CP5 Boost Kit & GTR Steering Wheel
Today we’re diving into a few new peripherals from CAMMUS, expanding their growing eco-system of sim racing hardware.
We’ll look at two recent add-ons:
- The CAMMUS CP5 Boost Kit — a small but impactful upgrade for the CP5 pedals.
- The CAMMUS GTR Steering Wheel — a new rectangular replacement frame for the C12 wheelbase.
Let’s see how these additions change the experience behind the wheel.
🦶 CAMMUS CP5 Boost Kit
💰 Price & Package
The Boost Kit is an optional add-on for the CP5 pedals, priced at $20 USD on top of the $79 USD base pedal set — still very budget-friendly overall.
🔧 Installation
Installation is extremely easy — around 5 minutes total.
- Accelerator mod: a larger outer tube replaces the original one to reduce pedal travel.
- Brake mod: a holder and a rubber “eraser” cone insert between the pedal arm and stop point, adding progressive resistance.
You can flip the eraser to fine-tune resistance — simple but clever.

🧩 First Impressions
When I first reviewed the standard CP5 pedals, I said they were solid entry-level pedals — metal build, accurate Hall sensors, but too similar in feel between brake and accelerator.
With the Boost Kit installed and recalibrated, the difference is immediate.
The brake now feels properly firm, clearly distinct from the throttle, and the overall immersion improves dramatically.
It’s impressive how such a small change transforms the entire driving feel.
🏎️ Performance & Feel
The added resistance gives you better modulation and confidence under braking.
It’s not a load-cell pedal, but for this price, it’s a huge upgrade.
I do think the rubber cone could be a bit firmer — it’s still too easy to reach 100% brake force.
Maybe CAMMUS could offer an alternative or a second, stiffer insert in future kits.

The accelerator side change is subtler. Reducing pedal travel helps responsiveness but doesn’t affect feel much.
A slightly thicker tube or thin rubber coating might improve immersion further.
🔮 Looking Forward
CAMMUS has announced that this modification will be built into the upcoming C5 pedals, though it will slightly increase their price.
Still, it’s great to see that community feedback is being implemented quickly — something many brands could learn from.
🏁 CAMMUS GTR Steering Wheel
Next up is the GTR Steering Wheel — a rectangular replacement frame for the C12 wheelbase.
🧰 Installation
No quick release here, so you’ll have to unbolt the standard round wheel and attach the new one manually.
Total installation time: 5 minutes, tops.
🧱 Build & Feel
- Frame made of sturdy metal
- Grips are a firm rubber compound, not sticky and pleasant to the touch
- Buttons remain easily accessible and within reach

The result feels solid, responsive, and comfortable for GT or F1-style driving.
It’s a simple but effective swap that adds variety to the C12 experience.
💡 Impressions
I genuinely like this frame — it’s clean, practical, and priced right.
At $49 USD, it’s a very affordable way to change the feel of your setup.

I’d love to see CAMMUS expand this lineup further — perhaps an Alcantara version for those who prefer a premium, racing-inspired texture.
