The only drawback is the smaller wheel diameter (27 cm).
🧩 Platform Compatibility
Both wheelbases in their default bundles are PC-only.
However, Fanatec pulls ahead with console options:
🎮 Fanatec Console Support
- Xbox → Works if you add an Xbox-compatible wheel
- PlayStation → Requires GT DD Pro (much more expensive)
The cheapest path to console compatibility:
- Xbox package at ~480€ including a McLaren wheel
MOZA does not offer console support for the R5.
Edit: MOZA brought out an Xbox compatible wheel too, which makes every wheelbase compatible with the Xbox platform.

On track, both felt satisfying, immersive, and capable — with no clear performance winner, though MOZA does deliver slightly richer detail.
🧯 Known Issues
Fanatec CSL DD
- Collar on the shaft can loosen → temporary wheel disconnect
- QR can squeak
- Both issues are easy fixes
MOZA R5
- Reports of overheating on long sessions
- Some users experienced temporary FFB dropout
- Similar to historic T300 heat issues
Not widespread, but worth noting.
Note: For both wheelbases, the issues seem to have gone. For Fanatec with the introduction of a version with a new quick release and MOZA with a software update
